WATER RESOURCES

LFR’s water resources and quantitative services group has specialized skills and experience in surface water and groundwater assessment, development, conservation, and management for future sustainability of this precious resource.

LFR understands today’s complex water resources challenges. Our experienced engineers and hydrologists develop cost-effective strategies to assess surface and groundwater resources within a watershed or groundwater basin and determine development, mitigation, and protection strategies to best meet and sustain end-use objectives.

In addition to developing groundwater resources, we have experience in conducting large-scale (basin scale) evaluations of groundwater resources. While we have substantial experience providing our services to solve more “traditional” water supply problems, we also have particular depth and expertise in working with groundwater quality issues. With the development of increasingly marginal groundwater supplies, aquifer storage and recovery programs, and reuse of reclaimed water, water quality is often the dominant water resource issue.

Our expertise includes water quality evaluations, salt balance calculations, overdraft studies, saltwater intrusion, well construction, rehabilitation and abandonment procedures, permitting, wellhead protection programs, and groundwater and surface water modeling.
